ABOUT THE BLOG

"You must do the thing you think you cannot do".... Eleanor Roosevelt

I'm an average down the street kinda Jo and "softer footsteps….why not write" was born out of an urge to write and an idea to change my lifestyle.  I have always loved makeup but not in a Kim K way. Come payday I would buy designer label foundation, mascara and eyeliner religiously and mix it with the cheaper brand eyeshadows, blushers and bronzers.  My original aim was to find and replace my makeup products with ones  that do not test on animals. As I dug deeper this idea spilled over into my shower items and then household cleaning products.  When I first considered embarking on an eco-conscious, animal friendly journey, I thought it would be an easy thing to do, millions have paved the way before me. I took to Google and went to work.

However, this quest to find everyday cruelty free products from average down the street retailers proved itself a little complex. It's a minefield out there and I didn't know what I was looking for.  There is so much information available it can bog you down, so I took to noting my own findings.

This corner of the internet is where I document the discoveries I've made on becoming meatless and cruelty free as well as being an ex pat and what I am both learning and experiencing along the way.

I simply wish to be more eco-conscious, animal friendly and reduce the size of my footprint whilst softening the blow of my beautifully heeled footstep.
I love writing it and I hope you enjoy it too.  If you are considering writing a blog… just do it.  It's fun and therapeutic.  I highly recommend you let your creative, freak flag fly.
