Cruelty free mascara "Too Faced Better Than Sex", "Barry M Showgirl" and "Milani Grandissimo Lashes" review
My favourite cruelty free mascaras are
1.) Too Faced Better Than Sex (reviewed)
2.) Barry M Showgirl Extra Lengthening (reviewed)
3.) Catrice Lashes to Kill, Ultra black.
They are rated on look and feel, lengthening and long lasting effect. There is one here for all budgets. No excuses, come along the cruelty free road.
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara in my opinion one of the best mascaras I've ever used and by far my favourite cruelty free mascara. This is a 5 star product. It cost $23 at Sephora and is also available at Ulta and Debenhams UK and Ireland for £19/€23.
After one application, I was very happy and smiled at myself in the mirror and that has to be worth something. I'm a mascara fiend and this is an A+ buy. It has a curvy hourglass brush and a very black formula. It was a little thick when I opened it which made me nervous about my eyelashes clumping together to make one big mother of an unattractive lash but didn't thankfully. My lashes were so long they hit off my glasses. A little nerdy but I was delighted with myself. One coat worked perfectly and it didn't fall at all. Not a panda eye in the house at the end of the day and there were no dry flaky black specks on my face either.
Before I had fully committed to buying it, I found myself standing in Sephora reading their best selling mascara wall with the "Too Faced Better Than Sex" in hand when a random shopper walks pointing to my hand and declares and I quote, "I wear that, it's the best. It's my favourite mascara ever" With that announcement, I was sold. I'm an easy sell and thankfully I wasn't disappointed. I can see why it's on their best sellers list. With it's cruelty free stamp, decent price, nice packaging and fantastic results "Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara" is a great buy and gift for yourself or as Christmas stocking filler for your friends (even if I do hate the name).

My second favourite is the Barry M Showgirl girl, Extra Lengthening Black Mascara. I have seen "Barry M" cosmetics in Boots pharmacies all over Ireland and the UK for as long as I can remember, I used to walk on by and I never really payed much attention to the display of coloured-y cosmetics, not knowing much about them. I was a snob and a very dumb elitist especially when it came to my makeup. I enjoyed wasting my hard earned cash on the expensive brands in high end department stores and as "Barry M" is inexpensive I never gave him a second thought. That is until I started on my cruelty free path.
Now as I cruise along this cruelty free highway my pit stops involve taking in all the animal friendly brands that are easily accessible to me. I was unaware that they were right under my nose the whole time.
New to this, my first "Barry M" purchase was the "Showgirl, Extra Lengthening Black Mascara", I am impressed and now converted to the "Barry M" way. It cost €7.49 in the Boots pharmacy at Dublin Airport and is available in Boots all over Ireland, the UK and online. It does exactly what it claims to do. I look like a boiled egg or simply just an egg without mascara and eyeliner so to say I love both is an understatement and I can honestly say I love this mascara. It works perfectly, both lengthening and darkening my lashes, so mission has been accomplished. It has a thin silicone brush to separate and lengthen the hairs. I used in on hot October day in Los Angeles, for a natural day time look and I very much look forward to trying out more of Barry upon my return to the Emerald Isle at Christmas.
My conclusion is, if venturing down the cruelty free road bring "Barry M" along as a partner, it's inexpensive and efficient and therefore a winner. I have a new cruelty free crush in the form of "Barry M".
Check it out for yourself, their website is extremely user friendly and informative.
And lastly "Milani Grandissimo Lashes". I purchased this at CVS for approx $8. I am not a big fan of this one. I love the size of the brush, it feels sturdy in your hands and separates the hairs well. I respect Milani Cosmetics for the huge range of cruelty free products they have available but I found this mascara didn't suit me. The formula was a little thick and on the dry side and it flaked and fell on my face at the end of the day. Not a good look. I'm not giving up completely on Milani Cosmetics. I will buy them again especially for their cruelty free stamp and use this mascara until the end but this one is not a favourite. I would like to see the formula lighter and more moisturising because I love the size of the brush.
