"I'm washing my hair". Review of L'Oreal Ever Pure Cruelty Free Shampoo

I was both delighted and shocked to see the name L'Oreal on a cruelty free list. However, it is only their Ever Pure line that is cruelty free, the rest of their products test on animals.

Standing in Ralph's I was skeptical. I chose the option for coloured hair. I
opened the cap to do the obligatory sniff test and I was really pleasantly surprised and even more surprised with the price.  There it was smelling gorgeous for $7.99 (€8.99 Tesco / $5.99 Bed, Bath & Beyond) with the sought after claim of not testing on animals.  I practically ran up to the register so proud with my new found animal friendly choices.

To home with me, to test I shall.

I do realise that $8 and €9 is by no means cheap, it was a surprise to me though. I had a completely self fabricated view that all non animal tested cruelty free products would be ridiculously expensive and out of my price range and the fact that it's under $10 and cruely free, I'm happy to buy it.

The Verdict

Really impressed with this and will definitely be buying this line.  The packaging
is pretty and pink if that's your thing and the smell is delightful.  It's sulfate free (another thumbs up) and suds up really well with the normal amount of shampoo used.  I stupidly forgot to buy the conditioner so I only shampooed in the shower for the first time I'd say since I was 12. To my shock and AWE (I kid you not) my hair was so easy to comb through I felt duped by the conditioner criers, are we being lied to?!  I let my hair dry naturally and I can honestly say that this product is brilliant for my hair.  The results were soft and shiny hair.  I have used it a few times now and there has been no build up and no dandruff.

Overall I'm completely satisfied with this shampoo and if you are considering it, do it for your self esteem, or as L'Oreal has stated so many times before "because you're worth it".  Well the cruelty free feel goodness is certainly worth it. Yes I would recommend to a friend.
